Job Summary
The Area HR Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and initiatives across multiple hotel properties within the assigned area. The role partners closely with General Managers and department heads to ensure effective workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational HR support to multiple hotel properties within the assigned area.
- Partner with General Managers and senior hotel leadership to align HR strategies with business and operational objectives.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning for hotel operations.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution.
- Drive performance management and succession planning across the hotels.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate learning programs.
- Ensure compliance with company HR policies, local labor laws, and hospitality standards.
- Monitor HR KPIs including turnover, absenteeism, headcount, recruitment, and employee engagement.
- Support compensation, benefits, promotions, and annual salary review processes.
- Conduct regular HR audits and property visits to ensure consistent HR practices.
- Coach and develop HR teams and hotel management on HR policies and best practices.
- Support organizational changes, pre-opening activities, restructuring, and other HR projects as required.
- Prepare regular HR reports and provide recommendations to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Previous experience supporting multiple hotel properties or a multi-site hospitality operation is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality HR practices, employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
- Good knowledge of local labor laws and employment regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with General Managers, department heads, and corporate leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent is an advantage
