Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Kitchen Equipment Technician to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment. The technician will ensure that all kitchen appliances and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical faults and perform necessary repairs.
  • Maintain equipment such as ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, coffee machines, and other commercial kitchen appliances.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and identify potential equipment problems.
  • Replace damaged or worn-out components and spare parts.
  • Test equipment after installation or repair to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • Follow electrical, mechanical, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and replaced parts.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff and management to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician or similar technical role.
  • Good knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration and gas-powered equipment is an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency call-outs when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in hotels, restaurants, catering companies, hospitals, or commercial kitchens.
  • Knowledge of gas, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
  • Valid technical certifications or relevant professional training.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
