Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and building systems are operating safely and efficiently. The role leads the maintenance team, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, and responds promptly to operational issues to maintain high hotel standards and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Carry out regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and technical facilities.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and technical emergencies.
  • Assign daily tasks to technicians and monitor completion and quality of work.
  • Ensure electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and other building systems are maintained properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
  • Monitor the condition of tools, equipment, and spare parts and report replenishment requirements.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
  • Support energy and utility-saving initiatives throughout the hotel.
  • Identify recurring technical problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with maintenance planning, budgeting, and projects.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed with minimum disruption to hotel operations and guests.
  • Train, guide, and motivate maintenance team members.
  • Respond to guest and department requests professionally and within established response times.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or hotel management.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and fire safety requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
  • Good communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
  • Hotel experience is highly preferred.
