Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The technician will ensure that refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, and other cooling equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system faults.
- Maintain and repair commercial refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, display chillers, and ice machines.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and operating costs.
- Check refrigerant levels, pressures, temperatures, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other system components.
- Identify and repair refrigerant leaks.
- Replace defective components such as compressors, thermostats, fans, motors, valves, sensors, and electrical parts.
- Perform vacuuming, refrigerant charging, and system recovery in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Test refrigeration systems after maintenance or repair to ensure proper operation.
- Inspect electrical connections and control systems related to refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and refrigerant usage.
- Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow health, safety, electrical, and environmental regulations.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or certificate in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Refrigeration Technician or similar technical position.
- Good knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and components.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration problems.
- Practical experience with refrigerants, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigeration controls.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, catering companies, or commercial kitchens.
- Experience with cold rooms, walk-in freezers, display refrigerators, and commercial freezers.
- Knowledge of electrical control systems and refrigeration controllers.
- Relevant technical certifications or professional training.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
